Introduction to Growee
Growee is an HR management platform that brings the day-to-day running of a team into one place. Instead of juggling separate tools for time tracking, leave, employee records, and documents, you manage all of it from a single account.
This article explains what Growee covers and points you to the right place to get set up. It is for anyone opening a new account, whether you are an owner setting up the company or a team member finding your way around.
What Growee does
Growee is built around a set of modules. Each one handles a part of the employee lifecycle, and they share the same data, so a leave request, a logged hour, and an evaluation all connect back to the same person.
You do not need every module from day one. Most teams start with time tracking and leave, then add the rest as they go.
The main modules
| Module | What you use it for | Learn more |
|---|---|---|
| Time tracking | Log working hours against projects and tasks, with timers and weekly timesheets. | Logging Time |
| Leave management | Request and approve time off, and track balances by holiday type. | Requesting Time Off |
| Team | Store employee profiles, departments, positions, and levels in one place. | Adding Employees |
| Projects | Manage clients, projects, and who is assigned to each one. | Creating Projects |
| Documents | Upload, preview, and manage documents, with expiration reminders. | Managing Documents |
| Evaluations | Schedule reviews, record salary or role changes, and set goals. | Creating Evaluations |
| Reports | Break down logged hours by team member, task, project, and period. | Generating Reports |
| Invoicing | Create and send invoices, and track expenses. | Creating Invoices |
Alongside these, Growee includes a dashboard with a shared events calendar, a Quick Find search for jumping straight to any page, and integrations such as Google Calendar and Slack.
What you can store
You do not need several tools to keep employee information anymore. Growee holds personal details, salary information, and relevant documents together on each profile. It also sends automatic reminders for events such as evaluations, birthdays, and expiring documents, so you do not lose track of the important dates.
Access to this data is controlled by roles. Confidential information such as salaries and identification numbers is only visible to the roles that need it, and it is encrypted. See Roles and Permissions for the details.
Quick start
If you are setting up a new account, this is a good order to work through:
- Create your account. Sign up from the Growee website with Google or with an email and password, then confirm your email.
- Set up your company. Adjust the configurations that matter to you, such as contract types, holiday policies, positions, and levels. Growee ships with sensible defaults you can change at any time.
- Invite your team. Add employees and send them invitations to join. See Inviting Your Team.
- Assign roles. Give each person the right role so they see only what they should. See Roles and Permissions.
- Start using Growee. Log time, request leave, and explore the modules your team needs.
Tip: New to the layout? Navigating Growee walks you through the menus, filters, and the Quick Find search.
