HR software for healthcare teams and clinics

The records side of a clinic or care group: licenses and certificates stored as documents with expiration dates, leave requests answered against round-the-clock cover, and reviews that get scheduled.

Growee's Team list showing name, position, email and status for each employee, with filters for position, tags, status, start date, department and team.

Where Growee fits, and where it does not

Growee is general HR software, not a healthcare system. No payroll, no insurance benefits enrollment, no credential-matched rota, and no PBJ staffing reports that long-term care facilities file quarterly. Paylocity and TruPay cover those (as of August 2026). Growee holds the staff record: documents with expiration dates, leave, timesheets, evaluations and e-signature.

Three things this actually replaces

Usually a credential spreadsheet, a leave group chat, and a review calendar nobody owns.

Licenses and certificates sit on the person, with an expiration date

A nursing license, an occupational-medicine certificate and a signed contract have one thing in common: a date after which they stop counting. In Growee each is a document type you define, filed on the employee with an expiration date.

  • Document types you define, with tags and filters to pull one team's renewals
  • Expiration alerts by email before the date passes
  • E-signature by link, no account for the signer, and the signed file stays on the record with a fingerprint tied to its contents

E-signature is on the paid plan; documents and expiration alerts are not. See document management →

Leave requests answered against the cover a ward has to keep

Requests go in with dates and type, the requester sees the days left after this one, and the answer stays on the record. Public holidays for 99 countries come from the dataset behind our national holidays pages: check United States, Canada or England for 2026.

  • Request, approve, reject or cancel, with every state in one list
  • Balances by year and leave type
  • A planner with national holidays, weekends and personal leave, and presence sheets from the same records

See leave management →

Reviews get scheduled instead of postponed

A competency review or a salary conversation is an evaluation with a type, a date and an assignee, kept on the same record as the person's documents and leave.

  • Types you define, such as technical or salary reviews
  • Reminders before the date, so reviews stop slipping quarters
  • Salary and role changes recorded in the review and reflected on the employee's timeline

Growee vs Paylocity vs TruPay

Both are payroll-first platforms with a healthcare story. On payroll, benefits and credential-based scheduling they beat us outright, and neither publishes a price (as of August 2026).

Paylocity cells come from its healthcare industry page and its pricing page (as of August 2026): the healthcare page describes matching staff to shifts based on certifications, skills and licenses, tracking certifications with recurring training, and staying compliant with PBJ reporting; the pricing page lists Payroll, Human Resources, Workforce Management, Talent Management and Benefits Management as modules but publishes no numeric price — it is a "request pricing" page, so entry price reads "Not published on site". TruPay cells come from its healthcare HR management page (as of August 2026), which describes payroll, HR and benefits administration and scheduling and timekeeping built for healthcare shift complexity, on its Inspire platform; trupay.com has no pricing page (both /pricing URLs return 404), so its price also reads "Not published on site". Cells marked "Not published" mean the vendor does not state it on the pages we checked — not that the product lacks it. Growee figures reflect our live plans: free for up to 3 people, then €2 per person per month or €20 per person per year, which covers employee records, documents and e-signature, leave, timesheets, evaluations, projects and reports. Our CRM (free up to 100 leads, then €49/month), knowledge base (€29/month) and hiring (billed per job post and per candidate) are separate add-ons and are not part of that per-person price.

Healthcare HR software: common questions

What is the best HR software for healthcare?

If the need is U.S. payroll, benefits administration, credential-based shift scheduling and PBJ reporting from one vendor, buy a payroll-first healthcare platform: that is what Paylocity and TruPay sell, and neither publishes a price (as of August 2026). If payroll is handled and the loss is in the records around it, that is what Growee covers, at €2 per person per month.

Can Growee track license and certification expiration for clinical staff?

Yes. Define the document types your paperwork uses, upload the file to the employee, and set an expiration date. Growee sends an email reminder before the date passes, and the list filters by type, employee, tag or expiration date. There is no pack of clinical credentialing forms: bring your own documents, or build templates that fill from employee data and go out for e-signature.

Does HIPAA apply to the HR records we keep about our own staff?

Not to employment records. HHS states the Privacy Rule does not protect employment records, even when the information in them is health-related. Growee holds staff records, not patient data, and no patient information belongs in it. Staff data gets role-based access and encryption in transit and at rest; see security.
